Blood Orange Olive Oil and Dark Chocolate Balsamic Marinade-Dressing

Blood Orange EVOO and Dark Chocolate Balsamic Marinade-Dressing Feature.docx

We discovered this flavor combination on meats when we made the Blood Orange Olive Oil and Dark Chocolate Balsamic Roasted Chicken recipe. Many of our customers have asked us to post this marinade recipe on its own because they’ve used it for several other meat and fish dishes. Start with the fruity citrus flavor from the Blood Orange Olive Oil, combine it with the bitter-sweet flavor of chocolate balsamic vinegar, garlic and lemon and you’ve got a marinade that doubles as a savory dressing. Enjoy the versatility!

DIRECTIONS

Prepare Orange EVOO and Dark Choc Balsamic Marinade

Prepare marinade by whisking all the ingredients together (the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper). Since the mustard is a good emulsifier, you don’t need to stream in the olive oil; you can mix all the ingredients at once. Your marinade/dressing is ready to use.

You may want to consider our Dark Chocolate Blood Orange Cake recipe as a dessert suggestion since it, too, uses the same two products.

MAKES ABOUT 3/4 CUP OF MARINADE
